Mahfoozur Rahman Nami
Mahfoozur Rahman Nami (May 1911 – 17 November 1963) was an Indian people, Indian Muslim scholar, politician and an author. He was an alumnus of Jamia Miftahul Uloom and Darul Uloom Deoband. He established Jamia Arabia Masoodia Noorul Uloom, Madrasa Nūr-ul-Ulūm and Azad Inter College in Bahraich. Biography Nami was born in May 1911. He completed his primary studies at Jamia Miftahul Uloom with Abul Lateef Nomani and Habibur Rahman Azami, Habib al-Rahman al-'Azmi. Nami entered the Darul Uloom Deoband 1344 Hijri year, AH, where he studied with Hussain Ahmad Madani, Izaz Ali Amrohi and Ibrahim Balyawi. He graduated in 1348 AH. Nami established Jamia Arabia Masoodia Noorul Uloom, Madrasa Nūr-ul-Ulum in Bahraich. He also established Maulana Azad Nur-ul-Ulūm High School, now known as Azad Inter College, in Bahraich. Deoband
Deoband is a town and a municipality in Saharanpur district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India, about 150 km from Delhi. Darul Uloom Deoband, an Islamic seminary and one of the largest Islamic Institution of India is located there. Etymology The native Hindi-Urdu name for the place is "Devband". According to one theory, it derives from " devi" (goddess) and "van" (forest), when this place was full of forests in the Mahabharata-era. A related argument is that it is derived from "devi" and "vandan" (praise), referring to the local Durga temples. Azaadville () ()is a town in South Africa located in Mogale City in the West Rand region of Gauteng province of South Africa. History Azaadville was established as Township around 1965. The Apartheid laws forced the Indian community, who lived in Krugersdorp town and Krugersdorp west, to move out to this new Township intended for people of Indian heritage only. The community opposed this forced removal, but had little choice against the Town Council's plans. A competition was held for a name for the township. The community boycotted the competition; and there was only one entry for the name: Azaadville; by Mr Abbass Nanabhay. The word 'Azaad' is a Persian word meaning "Free".
