Mahesh Gawli
Mahesh Gawli (born 23 January 1980) is an Indian football coach and former footballer who played as a centre-back and represented the India national football team on 68 occasions between 2000 and 2011. Club career Gawli was born in Goa and began playing football at 8. Gawli’s talent was immediately spotted by the coaches at all age groups. He was a member of the Goa U-12 team that lost against Japan U-12 in 1991–92. He then joined the famed Tata Football Academy. Gawli started his career at FC Kochin where he joined in 1998 after graduating from Tata Football Academy and won the Kerala League with them before moving on to Churchill Brothers. He stayed there at Churchill for three consecutive seasons from 2000–2002 and won the Goa Professional League thrice with them. Panaji

AFC U-16 Championship
The AFC U-17 Asian Cup, formerly known as the AFC U-16 Championship and AFC U-17 Championship, is a football competition, organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) held once every two years for Asian under-17 teams that also serves as a qualification tournament for the FIFA U-17 World Cup. The top 4 countries qualify to participate in the FIFA U-17 World Cup. Up to 2000, the tournament was for U-16 teams. Between 2002 and 2006 it was held as an under-17 tournament. Between 2008 and 2020, it was switched back to a U-16 Championship. The AFC then returned it to an under-17 tournament starting from 2023. Samir Naik
Samir Subash Naik (born 8 August 1979) is an Indian coach and former professional footballer who played as a defender for Dempo and India. He is currently coaching Dempo. Playing career Naik is part of successful Dempo SC squad which won 2 league titles and reached the semi-final of the AFC Cup, he is also a regular for India. He also captained the Indian team in an international friendly against Oman in 2012. Managerial career Naik became the head coach of Dempo in 2019, and in the 2021–22 Goa Professional League season, the club end decade long wait, and clinched the title in style. In the inaugural season of I-League 3 in December 2023, Dempo reached play-offs and secured promotion to I-League 2 and subsequently to I-League in the same season. I-League
The I-League is the men's second professional football division of the Indian football league system behind the Indian Super League. Administered by the All India Football Federation, it is currently contested by 13 clubs. It operates as a system of promotion and relegation with the Indian Super League (ISL) and the I-League 2. The 2007 AFC Cup was the fourth edition of the AFC Cup, playing among clubs from nations who are members of the Asian Football Confederation. Qualification The 13 'developing' nations in the Asian Football Confederation were invited to nominate one or two clubs to participate in the 2007 competition. 2006 winners, Al-Faisaly of Jordan qualify automatically, but proceed to the group stage. Vietnam and Thailand lose ration for Australia in AFC Champions League. Instead of sending two teams by each country to compete for AFC Champions League, the second representative team of Vietnam and Thailand is demoted to play in AFC Cup. IFA Shield
The IFA Shield is a football competition organized by the Indian Football Association, the football governing body in the Indian state of West Bengal. The IFA came into existence in 1893, and was named after the association. The IFA Shield tournament was started in the same year. It is the third oldest football tournament in India, after Durand Cup and Trades Cup, and is among the oldest football competitions in the world. Indian Federation Cup
The Federation Cup was an annual knockout football competition and the premier cup competition in men's domestic Indian football until 2017. Established in 1977, it was organized by the All India Football Federation (AIFF). The Federation Cup was eventually replaced by the Super Cup from the 2018 season. Bengaluru were the last champions, having defeated Mohun Bagan 2–0 in the 2017 final. David Booth (football Manager)
David Booth (born 2 October 1948) is an English football manager and former player. Early years Booth was brought up in Darton near Barnsley and attended Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Wakefield where he played rugby and cricket. Football was not played at his school. Dave joined Barnsley and made his first team debut at 19 years of age at left back where he played most of his career. He was later signed by Laurie McMenemy, later of Southampton and the England coaching staff, who was then manager of Grimsby Town. Managerial career David Booth became manager of Grimsby Town in January 1982 with the club at the bottom of the Second Division, following the dismissal of George Kerr.
