Mahatma Gandhi Foundation
The Mahatma Gandhi Foundation is located in Gujarat, India and is headed by Tushar Gandhi, the great-grandson of Mahatma Gandhi and the son of nonviolent activist and organiser Arun Gandhi. The organisation under the leadership of Tushar, a socio-political activist of peace issues, is involved in advocating and spreading Gandhian values and principles to address the problems and dilemmas faced by humankind and the contemporary world. In 2006, Tushar Gandhi was appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador of CISRI-ISP Intergovernmental Institution for the use of Micro-algae Spirulina Against Malnutrition. Tushar Gandhi
Tushar Arun Gandhi (born 17 January 1960) is an Indian author and son of Arun Manilal Gandhi, thus great-grandson of Mahatma Gandhi. In March 2005, he led the 75th anniversary re-enactment of the Dandi March. Early life Tushar Arun Gandhi was born on 17 January 1960, in Shegaon, Maharashtra, to Arun Manilal Gandhi, Arun and . His father was an author and his mother was a researcher. Tushar was raised in the Mumbai suburb of Santacruz, Mumbai, Santacruz. He studied at Adarsh Vinay Mandir, a local Gujarati-medium school. Arun Gandhi
Arun Manilal Gandhi (14 April 1934 – 2 May 2023) was a South African-American author, socio-political activist and son of Manilal Gandhi, thus a grandson of nationalist leader Mahatma Gandhi. In 2017, he published ''The Gift of Anger: And Other Lessons From My Grandfather Mahatma Gandhi'' (New York: Gallery Books/Jeter Publishing 2017). Kingsley Hall
Kingsley Hall is a community centre, in Powis Road, Bromley-by-Bow in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It dates back to the work of Doris and Muriel Lester, who had a nursery school in nearby Bruce Road. Their brother, Kingsley Lester, died aged 26 in 1914, leaving money for work in the local area for "educational, social and recreational" purposes, with which the Lesters bought and converted a disused chapel. The current Hall was built with a stone-laying ceremony taking place on 14 July 1927. A second community centre, also known as ''Kingsley Hall'' with a church (KHCCC -Kingsley Hall Church and Community Centre), was later built by the sisters in the neighbouring London Borough of Barking and Dagenham on Parsloes Avenue in Dagenham. Surur Hoda
Surur Hoda (1928-2003), also known as M. S. Hoda, was a socialist politician and trade unionist who believed in the ideals promoted by Mahatma Gandhi. Life Hoda was born in Chhapra in India, on 5 May 1928 into a Muslim family. He obtained an engineering degree. He then worked in the railway industry and then became active in trade union affairs, to such an extent that he found it necessary to leave the country and move to London in 1962. In the UK he was employed in the railways and civil aviation section of the International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF). Hoda was also active in the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament.
