Maharasan
''Maharasan'' is a 1993 Indian Tamil-language comedy film produced, directed and co-written by G. N. Rangarajan. The film stars Kamal Haasan and Bhanupriya, while Ramesh Aravind, Chandrasekhar, Goundamani, Senthil, Vadivelu, V. K. Ramasamy, Raghavi and Vadivukkarasi play supporting roles. It was released on 5 March 1993. Haasan acted in the film without any payment, to help his friend Rangarajan come out of his financial crisis. The film ran successfully in theatres, thereby becoming a profitable venture and helped Rangarajan recover from his earlier debts. Kamal Haasan
Kamal Haasan (born 7 November 1954) is an Indian actor, filmmaker, screenwriter, playback singer, television presenter and politician who works mainly in Tamil cinema and has also appeared in some Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, Kannada and Bengali films. Bhanupriya (born Mangabhanu; 15 January 1967) is an Indian actress, Kuchipudi dancer, and voice artist. In a career spanning over 4 decades, Bhanupriya has appeared in 155 feature films- predominantly in Telugu & Tamil, in addition to occasional performances in Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi films as well. Subramaniyan Karuppaiya (born 25 May 1939), known by his stage name Goundamani, is an Indian actor and comedian who works in Tamil cinema. He is known for his comic duo partnership in Tamil films with fellow actor Senthil. The pair dominated the Tamil industry as comedians in the 1980s and 90s. He was called Goundamani after acting as a Gounder in one of his early day dramas and the pseudonym stuck with him forever. ''Kalyanaraman'' is a 1979 Indian Tamil-language supernatural comedy film directed by G. N. Rangarajan and written by Panchu Arunachalam. The film stars Kamal Haasan and Sridevi, while V. K. Vasudevan (15 June 1944 – 20 February 2011), known as Malaysia Vasudevan, was a Malaysian-Indian playback singer and actor in Tamil cinema. Early life Malaysia Vasudevan's parents were from Palakkad. Chattu Nair of Ottappalam and Ammalu of Polpulli, along with their families migrated to British Malaya in search of a livelihood. After a few years, Chattu Nair married Ammalu in an arranged marriage. Vasudevan was born on 15 June 1944 as their eighth and youngest child.
