Magnus Vågberg
Magnus Trulsen Vågberg (born 23 December 1995) is a Norwegian curler from Bærums Verk. He currently plays lead for the Steffen Walstad rink. Career Juniors Vågberg competed for Norway in two World Junior Curling Championships, playing second on Team Magnus Ramsfjell. At the 2016 World Junior Curling Championships, the team finished with a 5-4 record, missing the playoffs. At the 2017 World Junior Curling Championships, the team had much more success, finishing the round robin with a 6-3 record, and then after losing to Scotland in the 3 vs. 4 game, they would defeat the Scots in a re-match to claim the bronze medal. Men's After juniors, Vågberg joined the Walstad rink. The team would make it to the finals of the 2017 GSOC Tour Challenge, his first career Grand Slam event, losing to Brad Gushue. 2017 GSOC Tour Challenge
The 2017 GSOC Tour Challenge was held from September 5 to 10 at the Co-operators Centre at Evraz Place in Regina, Saskatchewan. This was the first Grand Slam of the 2017–18 curling season. There were two tiers in each of the men's and women's events. The winning tier 1 teams get a direct bye into the 2018 Humpty's Champions Cup, the last grand slam event of the season. The winning tier 2 teams get a bye into the 2017 Masters, the next grand slam event of the season. On the men's side, the defending World Champion Brad Gushue rink from St. John's, Newfoundland defeated the defending Norwegian champion Steffen Walstad rink in the final. It would be Gushue's 8th career grand slam win. Team Gushue went undefeated in the tournament and took home $20,000 for the win. Jar IL
Jar Idrettslag is a Norwegian sports club from Bærum, Akershus. It mainly covers the areas Jar, Lysaker and parts of Stabekk. Jar IL was founded on 2 February 1934 as a merger between the boys' clubs Freidig and Rapp. It had sections for bandy, association football, track and field and Nordic skiing (cross-country skiing and ski jumping). Sections were added for team handball in 1940, orienteering in the 1940s and ice hockey in the 1950s. Ice hockey was the main focus from 1954, while all other sports waned. Only handball survived. The home field was Jar idrettsplass, colloquially named Jarbanen, which was opened on 20 August 1937. The ground had originally been given to Bærums SK in 1922 by Harald Løvenskiold. Lars Vågberg
Lars Vågberg (born 30 June 1967 in Sollefteå, Sweden) is a Norwegian curler from Bærum. Vågberg began his international curling career in Sweden. In his first international tournament, he was the second Mikael Hasselborg's 1990 European Curling Championships winning team. With Hasselborg, he would finish 7th at the World Curling Championships in 1992 and won a bronze medal at the 1994 European Championships. By 1997 Vågberg had moved to Norway. The 1997 World Championships would be the first for Vågberg as a Norwegian, and he played third for Pål Trulsen. While they finished 7th that year, the team would later go on to win two bronze medals (2001, 2003) and a silver (2002) at the Worlds. Most notably however was their victory at the 2002 Winter Olympics when they defeated Canadas' Kevin Martin in the final. Markus Snøve Høiberg (born 6 June 1991) is a Norwegian curler from Oslo. He was born in Oppdal Municipality. 2021 World Men's Curling Championship
The 2021 World Curling Championships, World Men's Curling Championship (branded as the 2021 Balkrishna Industries, BKT Tires & OK Tire World Men's Curling Championship for sponsorship reasons) was held from April 2 to 11 at the Markin MacPhail Centre at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, Canada. The event was originally to be held in Ottawa, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the championship was moved to Calgary. The 2019 Le Gruyère AOP European Curling Championships was held in 2019 to qualify European curling teams for the 2020 World Curling Championships and World Qualification Event.
