ØIF Arendal is a Norwegian handball team located in Arendal, Norway. They compete in REMA 1000-ligaen, which is the highest league for men's handball clubs in Norway. History The club was founded on April 1, 1929. The club was promoted to the first division, the REMA 1000-ligaen, in the 2008/2009 season. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball, Olympic handball or indoor handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the opposing team.
