Magni (character)
Magni is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was adapted from Magni, a character in Norse mythology, by Dan Jurgens. The character exists in an alternate future in which Thor rules over the entire Earth. Publication History Magni Thorson debuted in Thor vol. 2 #50 (August 2002) and was created by Dan Jurgens. The character is based on the Norse mythology deity Magni. Fictional character biography Thor: The Reigning Magni was born into a tumultuous New Asgard to Thor Odinson and Amora the Enchantress. While he was still just an infant, Magni's life was threatened by Balder's betrayal during the human resistance's raid led by Captain America. While Thor fought the resistance fighters, Balder got a hold of Magni and threatened to kill him if Thor didn't stop his subjugation of humanity. The Asgardians or Gods of Asgard are a fictional humanoid race of gods appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Some are taken from mythology while others are original creations. Grey Gargoyle (Paul Pierre Duval) is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Publication history The Grey Gargoyle first appeared in ''Journey into Mystery'' #107 (Aug. 1964) and was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Fictional character biography Paul Pierre Duval is a French chemist whose right hand was transformed into stone following a chemical accident, granting the ability to petrify anything it touches. Duval, however, becomes bored and attempts to achieve immortality by confronting Thor and stealing his hammer, Mjolnir. Thor is turned to stone in their first battle, but turns back to Donald Blake when he falls over and strikes the floor with his hammer. As Blake, he defeats the Gargoyle by luring him into the Hudson River in New York City, using a projection of Thor, leaving the villain buried at the bottom. Cobra is the name of a number of different fictional characters appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The most well-known Cobra is Klaus Voorhees, now known as the King Cobra. Klaus Voorhees was a laboratory assistant, working with a professor trying to find a cure for various venomous snake bites.
