Magic Broadcasting, LLC is a company which owned and operated five radio stations in Alabama and two in California. History Magic Broadcasting, LLC, formerly Styles Media Group, LLC, was founded in 1989. The name was changed to Magic Broadcasting in June 2006. The company is based in Panama City, Florida. Magic Broadcasting's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer was Don McCoy. The company sold off all of its radio stations in a series of transactions in 2010 and 2011. Radio Station
Radio broadcasting is transmission of audio (sound), sometimes with related metadata, by radio waves to radio receivers belonging to a public audience. In terrestrial radio broadcasting the radio waves are broadcast by a land-based radio station, while in satellite radio the radio waves are broadcast by a satellite in Earth orbit. Panama City, Florida
Panama City is a city in and the county seat of Bay County, Florida, United States. Located along U.S. Highway 98 (US 98), it is the largest city between Tallahassee and Pensacola. It is the more populated city of the Panama City–Lynn Haven, Florida metropolitan statistical area. Panama City was severely damaged when Hurricane Michael made landfall as a Category 5 hurricane on October 10, 2018. WJRL-FM (100.5 FM, "Rock 100.5") is an American radio station licensed to serve Slocomb, Alabama, United States. The station is owned by Robert Holladay and the license is held by Alabama Media, LLC. It broadcasts an active rock format to the Dothan, Alabama, area. History This station received its original construction permit for a new FM station to serve Fort Rucker, Alabama, broadcasting with 3,000 watts of effective radiated power at 93.1 MHz from the Federal Communications Commission on December 5, 1990. This was soon changed to 100.5 MHz, per Docket #87-618. The new station was assigned the call letters WXUS by the FCC on January 18, 1991. WDBT (103.9 FM) is a radio station licensed to serve Fort Rucker, Alabama, United States, part of the Dothan market. In addition, the station's digital FM signal transmits an adjacent channel, 103.9 HD2, which is also broadcast in analog on a translator signal on 107.7 FM as "Music 107.7". KDAY (93.5 FM, "93.5 KDAY") is a radio station that is licensed to Redondo Beach, California and serves the Greater Los Angeles area. The station is owned by Meruelo Media and airs a classic hip hop format. The station's studios are located in Burbank and its transmitter is in Baldwin Hills. KDAY also extends its signal coverage into the Inland Empire by adding a full power simulcast, KDEY-FM in Ontario, California to fill in all of the overlapping and gaping issues and problems in its eastern coverage area.
