''Hollyoaks'' is a British television soap opera that was first broadcast on 23 October 1995. The following is a list of characters that appeared or will appear in the serial in 2017, by order of first appearance. All characters were introduced by executive producer, Bryan Kirkwood. The first character to be introduced was Lily Drinkwell (Lauren McQueen), the niece of Diane Hutchinson ( Alex Fletcher). Hollyoaks
''Hollyoaks'' is a British soap opera which originally began airing on Channel 4 on 23 October 1995. It was created by Phil Redmond, who had previously conceived the soap opera ''Brookside (TV series), Brookside''. From 2005 to 2023, episodes have aired on sister channel E4 (TV channel), E4 a day prior to their broadcast on Channel 4. In 2023, ''Hollyoaks'' was removed from Channel 4's early evening schedule, but remains on E4 and Channel 4 (VoD service), Channel 4's on demand service with episodes now uploaded to YouTube. At its inception, the soap was targeted towards an adolescent and young adult audience but it has since broadened its appeal to all age groups. Ross Adams (born 5 May 1984) is an English actor, known for portraying the role of Scott Drinkwell in the Channel 4 soap opera ''Hollyoaks'' from 2015 to 2024, for which he won the British Soap Award for Best Male Dramatic Performance for in 2016. Michelle Holmes (born Corinne Michelle Cunliffe; 1 January 1967) is an English actress who has appeared on television most notably in ''Rita, Sue and Bob Too'' (1987), ''Coronation Street'' (1989–1990), '' Goodnight Sweetheart'' (1993–1996), '' Above Suspicion'' (2009-2012), and ''Hollyoaks'' (2017–2018). Adam Peter Rickitt (born 29 May 1978) is an English actor and singer. He portrayed the part of Nick Tilsley on the British soap opera ''Coronation Street'' from 1997 to 1999, and again from 2002 to 2004.
