The 1936 Summer Olympics (), officially the Games of the XI Olympiad () and officially branded as Berlin 1936, were an international multi-sport event held from 1 to 16 August 1936 in Berlin, then capital of Nazi Germany. Berlin won the bid to host the Games over Barcelona on the 29th IOC Session on 26 April 1931. The 1936 Games marked the second and most recent time the International Olympic Committee gathered to vote in a city bidding to host those Games. Diving is the sport of jumping or falling into water from a Diving platform, platform or springboard, usually while performing acrobatics. Diving is an internationally recognised sport that is part of the Olympic Games. In addition, unstructured and non-competitive diving is a recreational pastime. Diving At The 1932 Summer Olympics – Women's 3 Metre Springboard
The women's 3 metre springboard, also reported as ''springboard diving'', was one of four diving (sport), diving events on the diving at the 1932 Summer Olympics programme. For the first time, the competition was held exclusively from the 3 metre springboard. Divers performed three compulsory dives – running pike dive forward, standing backward straight somersault, running forward half-screw – and three dives of the competitor's choice (different from the compulsory) for a total of six dives. The competition was held on Wednesday 10 August 1932. Eight divers from six nations competed. Results Since there were only eight entries, instead of groups, a direct final was contested.
