Madis Laiv (born 1 June 1937) is a retired Estonian racecar driver. He is champion of various Soviet formula classes. Laiv is one of the most successful Estonian racing drivers during Soviet time. He began his racing career in 1958. In 1963, he won the Soviet Formula 3 Championship, and in 1964, he won the Soviet Formula 4 Championship. He also won the Soviet Formula 1 Championship in 1971, and in 1972 and 1975, he won the Formula 2 title. His career highlight was winning the Cup of Peace and Friendship in 1975. Madis Vihmann (born 5 October 1995) is a retired Estonian professional footballer who played as a centre back. He played in the Estonia national team in 19 matches. Madis Üürike (born 12 February 1943) is an Estonian politician and economist. Madis Üürike was born in Tartu, Estonia. Following the re-occupation of Estonia by the Soviet Union, the family fled to Sweden, where Üürike was raised and educated. He received his master's degree in philosophy and economics at Stockholm University and studied for his doctorate at Uppsala University, where he also worked as a university lecturer. Madis Timpson (born 1 October 1974), is an Estonian politician, lawyer, and civil servant who was the Minister of Justice of Estonia in 2024. Biography Madis Timpson was born on 1 October 1974. Madis Milling (24 November 1970 – 3 February 2022) was an Estonian actor, comedian, television and radio presenter, volunteer rescue worker, and politician. Madis Kõiv
Madis Kõiv (5 December 1929 – 24 September 2014) was an Estonian writer, philosopher and physicist. Education Kõiv attended school in Tartu after the second World War, graduating in the early 1950s with a degree in nuclear physics. Kõiv worked as a scientist and lecturer until 1991. Career as a playwright Kõiv always entertained a fascination with and love for literature. He wrote mostly for personal entertainment until the 1950s, when he became active in Estonian literary circles. His earliest published works were written with friends from these circles. He also wrote under a pseudonym for several years. His first published work was a play called ''Küüni täitmine'' (''Filling the Hay Barn'') written as a collaboration between Kõiv (using his pseudonym Jaanus Andreus Nooremb) and Hando Runnel in 1978. Madis Kalmet (born 27 January 1955, in Tallinn) is an Estonian actor and theatre director. In 1980 he graduated from the Tallinn State Conservatory's Stage Art Department. 1980-1985 he was an actor, and 1985-1988 principal stage manager of Rakvere Theatre. 1989-1992 he was an actor, and 1992-1999 the theatre director of Endla Theatre.
