Madhubani Assembly Constituency
Madhubani is an assembly constituency in Madhubani district in the Indian state of Bihar. In 2015 Bihar Legislative Assembly election, Madhubani will be one of the 36 seats to have VVPAT enabled electronic voting machines. Overview As per Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly constituencies Order, 2008, No. 36 Madhubani Assembly constituency is composed of the following: Madhubani municipality; Basuara, Bhachhi, Bhavara, Lachhminagar, Sonaur, Maksuda, Khajuri, Shambhuar, Sundarpur, Bhitthi, Balia gram panchayats of Madhubani community development block; and Pandaul CD Block. East Champaran District
East Champaran or Purvi Champaran is an administrative district in the Tirhut division of the state of Bihar in India. The district headquarter is located at Motihari. Prior to 1971, there was a single Champaran District. On 1 December 1971, it was divided into East and West Champaran (Purvi and Paschimi Champaran). In early days the land of East Chamapran was ruled by different kingdoms as Videha, Sunga, Kanvas. It is also believed that Champaran used to be a major part of King Janak's empire. The Bihar legislative assembly election, 2010 was held in six phases over a period of one month starting from 21 October until 20 November in all 243 constituencies of Bihar, India. Ramdev Mahato
Ramdev Mahato is an Indian politician and a former member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly from the Madhubani Assembly constituency. He had been elected from the Madhubani constituency to the Bihar Legislative Assembly four times between 2000 and 2010. Mahato was associated with the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and recognised as an influential leader of the Mithilanchal region of Bihar. In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, he left the BJP and contested the elections of the Madhubani constituency as an independent candidate, as this constituency was allotted to Vikassheel Insaan Party in a seat sharing arrangement. 1995 Bihar Legislative Assembly Election
The 11th Bihar Legislative Assembly elections were held in March 1995, to elect the 324 members of the Bihar Legislative Assembly. Janata Dal got a decisive victory in the state; political manoeuvre ensured Lalu Prasad Yadav's victory in the chief ministership. According to political scientist Sanjay Kumar, this election set a different trend in caste based politics of the state of Bihar, as in this election, there were two main political blocs in the state contesting for power.
