Madhav Ramanuj
Madhav Ramanuj ( gu, માધવ રામાનુજ, born 22 April 1945) is a Gujarati poet and writer from Gujarat, India. ''Tame'' (1972) and ''Anahadnu Ekant'' (2013) are his collections of poems. He won Narsinh Mehta Award (2012) and Sahitya Gaurav Puraskar (2016) for his contribution in Gujarati literature. Early life Ramanuj was born in Pachchham, a village in Ahmedabad district of the Indian state of Gujarat. His father was Odhavdas Ramanuj. He completed the Diploma of Arts in Applied Arts from Sheth C. N. College of Fine Arts in 1973. He joined the same college as professor of Applied Arts in 1973, and retired as the principal of the same college. He became an editor of ''Akhand Anand'' in 1969. He worked with publication house, Vora and Co. in 1969-70. He designed books covers for R. R. Sheth & Co. from 1970 to 1973. He served as the president of Gandharv Sangeet Vidyalaya Trust, Ahmedabad and Gujarati Sahitya Parishad. He was an adviser of Doordarshan, Ahmedabad. ... Reuben David
Reuben David (19 September 1912 – 24 March 1989) was a zoologist and the founder of the Kankaria Zoo in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. Biography He was born into a Bene Israel Jewish family in Ahmedabad. He was the youngest son of Joseph David. He was a self-taught veterinarian. He was invited by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation in 1951 to create a zoo in the city. He also founded the Kankaria Zoo (now Kamala Nehru Zoological Garden), the Chacha Nehru Balvatika (Children's Park) and the Natural History Museum, later named after him. He had lost his speech due to cancer. He also served as an advisor for Sundervan in Ahmedabad and Indroda Park in Gandhinagar. He co-authored ''The Asiatic Lion'' (1991) with M. A. Rashid who was a retired chief conservator of forests under Government of Gujarat. He was the Fellow of the Zoological Society (FZS). Gujarati cinema, also known as Gollywood or Dhollywood, is the Gujarati language film industry. It is one of the major regional and vernacular film industries of the cinema of India, having produced more than one thousand films since its inception. During the silent film era, many individuals in the industry were Gujaratis. The language-associated industry dates back to 1932, when the first Gujarati talkie, '' Narsinh Mehta'', was released. Until the independence of India in 1947, only twelve Gujarati films were produced. The Chief Minister of Gujarat is the chief executive of the government of the Indian state of Gujarat. The governor appoints the chief minister, whose council of ministers are collectively responsible to the assembly. The chief minister's term is for five years and is subject to no term limits, given that he has the confidence of the assembly.
