Made For Love (film)
''Made for Love'' is a 1926 American silent drama film directed by Paul Sloane (director), Paul Sloane, produced by Cecil B. DeMille, and starring Leatrice Joy. Plot As described in a film magazine review, Nicholas Ainsworth is a young American archaeologist working in Egypt who neglects his wife Joan for his work, in which he is assisted by Lady Diana Trent, a titled Englishwoman. His wife resents her husband’s attitude and, after a number of adventures, accepts the attentions of a native prince. For revenge of what he considers to be an affront to his family, the prince plots to dynamite a tomb while the scientist is working in it. The neglected wife rides to warn her husband of the danger. Both are trapped by the explosion. The prince is killed by a falling rock, and the scientist and his wife are finally rescued and reconciled. Paul Sloane (director)
Paul Sloane (April 16, 1893 November 15, 1963) was an American screenwriter and film director. Biography Born in New York City on April 16, 1893, Sloane directed 26 films from 1925 to 1952, and wrote or co-wrote 35 films. His movies include '' Hearts in Dixie'' (1929) with Stepin Fetchit, '' The Woman Accused'' (1933) with Cary Grant, '' The Texans'' (1938) with Joan Bennett, Randolph Scott and Walter Brennan, and ''Geronimo'' (1939) with Preston Foster, Ellen Drew, Andy Devine, and Chief Thundercloud. Neely Edwards
Neely Edwards (born Cornelius Limbach; September 16, 1883 – July 10, 1965) was an American vaudeville performer and film actor. Biography Edwards appeared in 174 films between 1915 and 1959. The first was as an unbilled player in a Harold Lloyd short. In the early 1920s Edwards and his vaudeville partner Edward Flanagan appeared as the "Hall Room Boys" in some of the earliest short films produced by Cohn-Brandt-Cohn Film Sales, which would develop into Columbia Pictures. Of his credited film appearances, about 140 are comedy short subjects, notably the "Nervy Ned" one-reelers made for Universal Pictures from 1922 to 1924, in which he and Bert Roach played a couple of hoboes who typically get into slapstick trouble. His later career is marked by bit parts and character work. Edwards was married to actress Marguerite Snow. He was born in Delphos, Ohio, and died in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles.
