Maddison Gay (born 28 September 1996) is an Australian rules footballer playing for Melbourne in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She was recruited by Carlton in May 2017 as a rookie signing after previously playing netball. She made her debut in the eight point win against at Ikon Park in the opening round of the 2018 season. Princes Park (stadium)
Princes Park (or Carlton Recreation Ground, currently known by its sponsored name Ikon Park) is an Australian rules football ground located inside the wider Princes Park in the inner Melbourne suburb of Carlton North. It is a historic venue, having been the home ground of the Carlton Football Club since early in its history. Prior to a partial redevelopment the ground had a nominal capacity of 35,000, making it the third largest Australian rules football venue in Melbourne after the Melbourne Cricket Ground and Docklands Stadium. Amelia Barden
Amelia Mullane (née Barden; born 17 April 1993) is a retired Australian rules footballer who played for Collingwood and for Carlton in the AFL Women's (AFLW). Early life and state football Mullane started playing football at her school Eltham College and in 2011 joined VFLW club Diamond Creek, where she played for five years. During that time she won the 2012 VFLW premiership with Diamond Creek, under the coaching of her father, and twice won the club's best and fairest award. Mullane attributes her strengths of blocking and tackling to her three brothers knocking her around when they were growing up. During the off-season between the 2017 and 2018 AFLW seasons, Mullane played for Diamond Creek in the VFLW. In the sport of Australian rules football, each of the eighteen players in a team is assigned to a particular named position on the field of play. These positions describe both the player's main role and by implication their location on the ground. As the game has evolved, tactics and team formations have changed, and the names of the positions and the duties involved have evolved too.
