Macklin Freke (born 6 January 1999) is an Australian professional soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper for Brisbane Roar. Career Early life Born in Brisbane, Queensland, Freke grew up playing cricket until stress fractures as a teenager resulted in him giving the game away, and taking up association football as a goalkeeper. Brisbane Roar Freke played state and NPL football for Brisbane City, before joining the Brisbane Roar's academy program. The 2023–24 season was the club's 29th national season in the history of Brisbane Roar FC, Brisbane Roar Football Club. The club participated in the A-League Men for the 18th time, and participated in the Australia Cup for the eighth time. On 2 May 2023, Ross Aloisi was appointed as the club's new head coach. On 24 December 2023, Aloisi left the club to take up a job as an assistant coach to Kevin Muscat at Shanghai Port F.C., Shanghai Port and the club promoted assistant Luciano Trani to the head coach role in an interim position until the end of the season.
