Mackenzie Gordon Jr.
Mackenzie Gordon Jr. (April 4, 1913–January 30, 1992)https://rock.geosociety.org/net/documents/gsa/memorials/v23/Gordon-M.pdf was an American invertebrate paleontology, invertebrate paleontologist. He was an expert on Carboniferous fossils. Gordon worked for the United States Geological Survey for 40 years, from 1941 to 1981. Invertebrate paleontology (also spelled invertebrate palaeontology) is sometimes described as invertebrate paleozoology or invertebrate paleobiology. Whether it is considered to be a subfield of paleontology, paleozoology, or paleobiology, this discipline is the scientific study of prehistoric invertebrates by analyzing invertebrate fossils in the geologic time, geologic record.
