Bruce Roy McKenzie EGH (1 January 1919 – 24 May 1978) was a South African-born Kenyan politician. He was the Minister of Agriculture in Kenya during the presidency of Jomo Kenyatta, to whom he was an adviser. He is alleged to have been an agent for British, South African or Israeli intelligence. Early life McKenzie was born in 1919 in Richmond in the Union of South Africa's Natal Province. Alister MacKenzie
Alister MacKenzie (30 August 1870 – 6 January 1934) was an English golf course architect whose course designs span four continents. Originally trained as a surgeon, MacKenzie served as a civilian physician with the British Army during the Boer War where he first became aware of the principles of camouflage. During the First World War, MacKenzie made his own significant contributions to military camouflage, which he saw as closely related to golf course design. MacKenzie is amongst the most famous golf architects in history. Alexander Johnston Mackenzie (1912 – 7 April 1945) was a Scottish barrister, soldier, and author. Life Mackenzie graduated in law from the University of Edinburgh in 1934 and joined Gray's Inn to train as a barrister, succeeding in Bar examinations in the Trinity term of 1936. Before the Second World War, Mackenzie made a study of propaganda in totalitarian states, and his book ''Propaganda Boom'' (1938) was republished in November 1938 by the Right Book Club. In the work he studied in particular the propaganda of the First World War, the contemporary German Ministry of Propaganda and the Italian Ministry of Popular Culture, and the Soviet Union, and the concerns of other countries about excessive government interference in news and culture. Alexander Slidell Mackenzie (April 6, 1803 – September 13, 1848), born Alexander Slidell, was a United States Navy officer, famous for his 1842 decision to execute three suspected mutineers aboard a ship under his command in the Somers Mutiny. Mackenzie was also an accomplished man of letters, producing several volumes of travel writing and biographies of early important US naval figures, some of whom he knew personally. Mackenzie was the brother of Senator John Slidell of Louisiana, who was later involved in the American Civil War's ''Trent'' Affair. Sir Alexander Campbell Mackenzie KCVO (22 August 1847 – 28 April 1935) was a Scottish composer, conductor and teacher best known for his oratorios, violin and piano pieces, Scottish folk music and works for the stage. Mackenzie was a member of a musical family and was sent for his musical education to Germany. He had many successes as a composer, producing over 90 compositions, but from 1888 to 1924, he devoted a great part of his energies to running the Royal Academy of Music. Alexander Mackenzie (before 1436 - after 1471), known as "Ionraic" (or "the Upright"), traditionally counted as 6th of Kintail, was the first chief of the Clan Mackenzie of whom indisputable contemporary documentary evidence survives. During his long life, he greatly expanded his clan's territories and influence. Sources There is little authority for the existence and life of Alexander which pre-dates the (frequently unreliable) clan histories written in the 17th century.
