Machala is a 2022 song by Carter Efe and Berri Tiga. The song was released on 29 July 2022 as an Hommage to a popular Nigerian musician, Wizkid. Machala enjoyed wide supports from Wizkid fans around the globe and it reached significant positions on international streaming apps. It was in 14th position of 50 on the Afrobeats charts US Billboard, made its debut into 1st and 2nd positions in Apple Music Nigeria Top 100 and TurnTable Nigeria Top 100 respectively. However, shortly after the success of the song, the two artistes Carter Efe and Beri Tiga began war of words over the ownership of the song. Oderhohwo Joseph Efe (born 29 September 2001) better known as Carter Efe, is a Nigerian comedian, singer and songwriter. Early life and education Odahohwo Joseph Efe was born in Ogun State, Nigeria, into a family originally from Ughelli North in Delta State. He is the sixth of seven children. Efe attended Grace Group of Schools in Ogun State for his primary education before moving on to Christ Apostolic Grammar School, also in Ogun State, for his secondary education. Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun (born 16 July 1990), better known as Wizkid, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. Born in the Ojuelegba suburb of Surulere, Lagos, Wizkid is a voice in the emerging Afrobeats movement. His music is a blend of Afrobeats, afropop, R&B, afrobeat, reggae, dancehall, and pop. He began recording music at the age of 11 and released a collaborative album with the Glorious Five, a group he and a couple of his church friends formed.
