Maccarinelli
Enzo Maccarinelli (born 20 August 1980) is a Welsh former professional boxer who competed from 1999 to 2016. He held the WBO cruiserweight title from 2006 to 2008. At regional level, he held the European and British cruiserweight titles between 2010 and 2012, and the Commonwealth light-heavyweight title in 2013. Early life Maccarinelli was born in Swansea to Elizabeth (née Leyshon) and Mario Maccarinelli. His father had emigrated to Wales in the 1950s from Lake Garda in Italy. Mario had been a boxing champion in the Italian army and had continued his boxing career in South Wales, competing in local amateur events. Mario took over ownership of Bonymaen Amateur Boxing Club in 1985 and encouraged Maccarinelli into the sport from a young age. Lee Swaby (born 14 May 1976) is a British former professional boxer who competed from 1997 to 2010. At regional level, he challenged twice for the British Boxing Board of Control, British cruiserweight (boxing), cruiserweight title in 2004 and 2006, and once for the Commonwealth Boxing Council, Commonwealth cruiserweight title in 2004. Nicky Piper MBE (born 5 May 1966) is a retired Welsh super middleweight and light heavyweight boxer from Culverhouse Cross, Cardiff. His career was at its peak in the 1990s; he became the Commonwealth Light-heavyweight champion in 1995. He was trained by Charlie Pearson and managed by Frank Warren. A points decision is a winning criterion in several full-contact combat sports, such as boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai, mixed martial arts and others sports involving striking. Unlike normal decisions where there are three judges that agree on which fighter won the match, the fight is scored by the referee, who determines who wins the bout. An interim championship is an alternate title that is awarded by the sanctioning bodies of professional boxing, and in other combat sports such as kickboxing, professional wrestling, and mixed martial arts. Occasionally, the champion of a particular weight division is temporarily unable to defend his championship because of medical, legal, or other reasons beyond the competitor's control. When this case occurs, two highly ranked contenders may fight for an interim championship of the same weight division – leading to two champions existing in the same weight division simultaneously. The World Boxing Council (WBC) is an international professional boxing organization.
