Maayi
''Maayi'' is a 2000 Indian Tamil-language action drama film written and directed by Surya Prakash, starring Sarathkumar and Meena, while Vadivelu, Vijayakumar, Sabitha Anand, Suvalakshmi, Rajan P. Dev, and Anand play supporting roles. The film was a hit at the box office, and Vadivelu's comedy performance was critically acclaimed. The film was later remade into Telugu as ''Simharasi'' (2001) and in Kannada as ''Narasimha'' (2012). Plot Maayi is a well-respected do-gooder in a village. Surya Prakash (director)
Surya Prakash (1968 – 27 May 2024) was an Indian film director who worked on Tamil and Telugu-language films. He made his directorial debut with '' Manikkam'' (1996), before making the action films, '' Maayi'' (2000) and '' Diwan'' (2003). Career Surya Prakash began his career by directing '' Manikkam'' (1996) featuring Rajkiran, before working on the unreleased ''Pen Ondru Kanden'' featuring Prabhu in the lead role during 1998. He later returned to make two action films featuring Sarathkumar in the early 2000s, '' Maayi'' (2000) and '' Diwan'' (2003). He also worked on ''Bharata Simha Reddy'' (2002), a Telugu film, which fetched negative reviews. Ponnambalam (born 11 November 1963) is an Indian actor and stuntman who has predominantly appeared in Tamil-language films. He is best known for playing antagonistic roles in Indian films during the 1990s, notably appearing in films such as " moonammura",'' Nattamai'' (1994), '' Muthu'' (1995) and '' Amarkalam'' (1999). Later in his career, Ponnambalam also appeared in a few leading roles, while also taking up the mantle of director and producer.
