Maarten Brzoskowski
Maarten Brzoskowski (born 19 September 1995) is a Dutch competitive swimmer of Polish origin who specializes in freestyle. He holds the Dutch records in both the long course and short course 400 meter freestyle events. His father's grandfather emigrated during World War I from Poland to the Netherlands. Career Brzoskowski participated in his first international championships at the 2014 European Aquatics Championships in Berlin, swimming the 400, 800, and 1500 meter freestyle events. He qualified for the 800 meter and 1500 meter freestyle at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships in Kazan, Russia, where he finished 16th and 15th in the heats. After the world championships, he shifted his focus from the 1500 meter to the 400 meter. Freestyle is a category of Swimming (sport), swimming competition, defined by the rules of the International Swimming Federation (FINA), in which competitors are subject to a few limited restrictions on their swimming stroke. Pieter Cornelis Martijn van den Hoogenband (; born 14 March 1978) is a Dutch retired swimmer. He is a triple Olympic champion and former world record holder. Sebastiaan Verschuren (born 7 October 1988) is a Dutch former competitive swimmer who specialized in short- and middle-distance freestyle events. At the 2016 European Aquatics Championships he won the gold medal in the 200 meter freestyle. He participated in the 2012 and 2016 Olympics, finishing 5th in the 100 meter freestyle in 2012. Kyle Stolk (born 28 June 1996) is a Dutch competitive swimmer who specializes in freestyle events. He won a silver medal in the boys' 200 m freestyle at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, and finished seventh as a member of the Dutch swimming squad in the 4×200 m freestyle relay at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
