MZT Skopje
MZT Skopje Aerodrom () is a basketball club based in Skopje, North Macedonia. The club competes in the Macedonian League and ABA League. The club's home ground is Jane Sandanski Arena, but due to small capacity, the matches in the ABA League and EuroCup between 2012 and 2014 were played in Boris Trajkovski Arena. Since the 2014–15 season, all matches are held in the renovated Jane Sandanski Arena. In its history, MZT Skopje has won the Macedonian championship eleven times, the Macedonian Cup thirteen times, and the Macedonian Super Cup seven times. The club was a founding member of the Adriatic Basketball Association in 2015. In November 2020, the club's shares were transferred to the Slovenian club KK Koper Primorska. The Macedonian First League (, ''Makedonska prva liga'') is the top-tier basketball competition in the Republic of North Macedonia organized by the Basketball Federation of North Macedonia. Until 1992 it was called Macedonian Republic League after which it was transformed into top division level Macedonian Basketball First League. After the transformation, teams from the dissolved Yugoslav Federal Leagues (MZT Skopje and Rabotnički) joined the Macedonian First League. The First Federal Basketball League () was the highest tier level men's professional club basketball competition in the former country of Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, SFR Yugoslavia. Founded in 1945, and folded in 1992 (1991–92 YUBA League, 1991–92 Winer Broker YUBA League), it was run by the Basketball Federation of Yugoslavia. With a total of 16 European-wide trophy winners and 11 finalists, the Yugoslav First Basketball League was one of the strongest European national domestic basketball leagues of all time. Lazar Lečić
Lazar "Grk" Lečić (; 30 January 1939 – 13 August 2024) was a Yugoslav and later Macedonian professional basketball coach and player. He is considered the founder of Macedonian basketball, who had a huge role in the exit of Macedonian basketball clubs in Europe in the 1970s and 1980s. Lečić was also responsible for founding and organising the youth basketball schools in both North Macedonia and Greece. In his lifelong odyssey he has won many prestigious awards such as "Giant" of the Macedonian Olympic Committee (2002), "Giant" of the Basketball Federation of Macedonia, " 11th of October, 13th of November, 8 September, Zlatna Bubamara among many others.
