MV Étretat
''Livia'' is a roll-on/roll-off (Ro/Ro) ferry soon to be operated by StraitNZ on their Wellington– Picton service. It was built in 2008, and originally named ''Norman Voyager''. In 2025, the ship was sold to StraitNZ, where it is expected to enter service on its Bluebridge Cook Strait service in August 2025, filling in for sister MV Connemara, and later replacing MS Strait Feronia. MV ''Connemara'' is a RORO passenger and freight ferry currently sailing across the Cook Strait in New Zealand on StraitNZ's Bluebridge service, after being purchased from Stena RoRo. From 2007 to 2010, she was operated by Baleà ria, Balearia as ''Borja'', then between 2010 and 2011 as ''Baltic Amber'' for AVE Lines and then DFDS Seaways, before subsequently spending four years on charter to LD Lines. MV Alam Pintar And FV Etoile Des Ondes Collision
The MV ''Alam Pintar'' and FV ''Etoile des Ondes'' collision took place in the English Channel in 2009 and involved the Singapore bulk carrier ''Alam Pintar'' and the UK fishing vessel ''Etoile des Ondes''. The fishing vessel sank and, although three of its four crew were rescued, one member, Chris Wadsworth, was never found. The bulk carrier continued on its passage although its crew knew of the collision and later made attempts to hide the fact of their knowledge. Three other vessels nearby did not respond to ''Etoiles'' distress calls, even though these were also broadcast by the coastguards. The rescue was eventually carried out by the ferry MV Etretat, MV ''Norman Voyager''. The UK's Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) carried out a full investigation of the incident and issued a damning report.
