Rivermaya
Rivermaya is a Filipino alternative rock band. Formed in 1994, it is one of the several bands that spearheaded the 1990s Philippine alternative rock explosion. Rivermaya is currently composed of original members Mark Escueta and Nathan Azarcon. Notable former original members include chief songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Rico Blanco and vocalist Bamboo Mañalac, who later formed the band Bamboo and eventually went on his solo career. Flora Gasser (November 28, 1932 – November 19, 2022) was a Filipino veteran film and television actress. Gasser started an acting career in the '70s. The Viva Hot Babes are a Filipino Pop music, pop girl group composed of actresses and models, founded in Manila by producer Vic del Rosario, Vicente "Vic" del Rosario, Jr. in 2003. Bamboo was a Filipino alternative rock band formed in 2003 by Nathan Azarcon and Bamboo Mañalac. The band was composed of lead vocalist Mañalac, bassist Azarcon, lead and rhythm guitarist Ira Cruz, and drummer Vic Mercado. Band origin Francisco "Bamboo" Mañalac serves as the band's frontman. Ira Cruz, the band's guitarist claimed that the name of the band was not just derived from their vocalist's name but also from the word ''bamboo'', the characteristics of which are associated with strength and durability with an island feel to it.
