MTR Feeder Bus
MTR Bus (legally Northwest Transit Service Area Bus Service) is a public transport, public Bus services in Hong Kong#Non-franchised buses, non-franchised bus service in Hong Kong operated by the MTR Corporation, serving the northwestern part of the New Territories. It comprises a network of 22 feeder bus routes for the convenience of passengers using the MTR rapid transit network, providing access to and between many MTR stations on the Tuen Ma line and Light Rail (MTR), Light Rail. The service carried approximately 51 million passengers in 2019 and is integrated with MTR's fare system to allow Tuen Ma line and Light Rail passengers who use Octopus cards to enjoy the free feeder bus services that link many housing estates along these lines. The Alexander Dennis Enviro500 MMC (sold as the Alexander Dennis Enviro500) is a Low-floor bus, low-floor, three-axle double-decker bus produced by the British bus manufacturer Alexander Dennis since 2012, replacing the Alexander Dennis Enviro500. The Enviro500 MMC is available powered by either Euro VI Diesel fuel, diesel or Hybrid electric vehicle, hybrid-electric and later Electric vehicle, fully-electric powertrains. East Rail Line
The East Rail line () is one of the ten lines that form MTR, the rapid transit, mass transit system in Hong Kong. Hovercraft
A hovercraft (: hovercraft), also known as an air-cushion vehicle or ACV, is an amphibious craft capable of travelling over land, water, mud, ice, and various other surfaces. Hovercraft use blowers to produce a large volume of air below the Hull (watercraft), hull, or air cushion, that is slightly above atmospheric pressure. The pressure difference between the higher-pressure air below the hull and lower pressure ambient air above it produces lift, which causes the hull to float above the running surface. Tuen Mun Ferry Pier
Tuen Mun Ferry Pier (屯門碼頭), or Tuen Mun Ferry Terminal, is a public pier located in the southern area of Tuen Mun, Hong Kong. Tuen Mun Ferry Pier, Tuen Mun Pier Head, and Tuen Mun Ferry Pier stop (MTR Light Rail) refer to the street-level transportation hub that is adjacent to the pier and consists of a light rail terminus and a bus terminus. The Ocean Walk shopping centre, above the transportation hub, is managed by MTR Corporation. Pierhead Garden is the private housing estate above the shopping centre and transportation hub. Before the extensive improvement of the road network during the late 1990s and 2000s, the traffic congestion on the overloaded Tuen Mun Road was unbearable so expansion on this road was needed. Tai Tong is an area southwest of Shap Pat Heung, in Yuen Long District, in the northwestern part of Hong Kong. Tai Tong Tsuen ( 大棠村) is located in the area. Administration Tai Tong Tsuen is a recognized village under the New Territories Small House Policy. Features Tai Tong has a mountain called Lychee mountain. The following is an overview of public housing estates in Tuen Mun, Hong Kong, including Home Ownership Scheme (HOS), Private Sector Participation Scheme (PSPS), Sandwich Class Housing Scheme (SCHS), Flat-for-Sale Scheme (FFSS), Subsidised Sale Flats Project (SSFP), and Tenants Purchase Scheme (TPS) estates. History Tuen Mun used to be a rural area. At a time when the population had swelled dramatically with refugees from China, many of them living in substandard housing, the government launched a plan to provide modern housing to the masses. As part of this policy, Tuen Mun was developed as a new town from the early 1970s. Land was reclaimed from the sea in order to provide space suitable for development. Metro Cammell Weymann
Metro Cammell Weymann Ltd. (MCW) was a British bus manufacturer and bus body builder based at Washwood Heath in Birmingham, England. MCW was established in 1932 by Metro-Cammell's bus bodybuilding division and Weymann Motor Bodies to produce bus bodies. MCW bus bodies were built in Metro-Cammell's and Weymann's factories until 1966 when Weymann's factory in Addlestone was closed (the Metro-Cammell and Weymann brand names were discontinued in the same year). From 1977 onward, MCW also built bus chassis. In 1989 the Laird Group decided to sell its bus and rail divisions. The MCW Metrobus is a two and three-axle double-decker bus manufactured by Metro Cammell Weymann (MCW) between 1977 and 1989.
