MS Henrik Ibsen
MS ''Henrik Ibsen'' is a historic Norwegian diesel-powered ship built in 1907. Together with MS ''Victoria'', it sails on the Telemark Canal in Norway between Skien and Dalen in the summer. The ship was built by Eriksbergs Mekaniska Verkstad in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1907 and named SS ''Styrsö''. The ship was operated in the Gothenburg archipelago until 1970, and after that she was used as charter ship. After being adapted to canal traffic, the ship arrived at Telemark Canal in 1992. She was renamed MS ''Henrik Ibsen'' after the former steamship SS ''Henrik Ibsen'', which also operated on the Telemark Canal from 1907 to 1919. From 1999 until 2010 the ship was owned and operated by Skien Dalen Skipsselskap AS. The ship was thereafter sold to the Telemarkskanalen Skipsselskap AS, owned by Thor Morten Halvorsen, who also owns Dalen Hotel. Eriksbergs Mekaniska Verkstad
Eriksbergs Mekaniska Verkstads AB was a Swedish shipbuilding company based in Gothenburg. It was founded in 1850 by Christian Barchman under the name ''Ericsbergs metall och tackjerns-gjuteri''. It delivered its last ship in 1979. History Introduction Founded in 1850 by Christian Barchman, the company originally worked with galvanization. The first shipyard wharf was opened in 1871, and two years later they delivered their first ship. In 1876 the company was transformed into a joint-stock company, and so the name was changed to ''Eriksbergs Mekaniska Werkstads AB''. In the beginning of the 1890s, the shipyard was still the smallest of the three wharfs that existed in Gothenburg. Tønsberg
Tønsberg , historically Tunsberg, is a city and municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county, eastern Norway, located around south-southwest of Oslo on the western coast of the Oslofjord near its mouth onto the Skagerrak. Stathelle
Stathelle is a town in Norway in the municipality of Bamble in the county of Telemark, Norway. History Stathelle was a former municipality in Telemark. It was separated from Bamble as a municipality of its own in 1851. In 1964, the municipalities of Stathelle and Langesund merged with Bamble municipality. With a population of about 8000, Stathelle is situated at the junction of the Langesundsfjord, Frierfjord and Eidangerfjord. Stathelle is an old trading town. Dalen Hotel is a historic hotel located at Dalen in the municipality of Tokke in Vestfold og Telemark, Norway. The luxury Dalen Hotel, once a popular locale for European royalty, is one of the largest wooden buildings in Norway and one of the best preserved hotels of its size from the 1800s. Dalen is the administrative centre of Tokke municipality, Norway. Its population (SSB 2005) is 801. Dalen is located on and around the delta where the river Tokke flows into the west end of the lake Bandak. Skien () is a city and municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county in Norway.
