MPBL All-Stars
The Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) is a men's regional professional basketball league in the Philippines composed of 30 teams. Founded in 2017 by eight-division boxing world champion and then-Senator Manny Pacquiao, the MPBL is not intended to be a competitor to the top-flight Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), but rather to provide a gateway for local, homegrown talents to showcase their skills. The league uses a home-and-away format, similar to the defunct Metropolitan Basketball Association. The MPBL started an amateur league before being granted professional status by the Games and Amusements Board. Due to Pacquiao's role in the league, it has also been referred to as Manny Pacquiao's Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League. Women's Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League
The Women's Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (WMPBL) is a women's professional basketball league in the Philippines consisting of fourteen teams. It serves as the women's counterpart of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). The league launched in November 2024 by boxing legend and former Senator Manny Pacquiao and is fourth league under the ''Maharlika Pilipinas'' name, following the men's MPBL, the Junior MPBL, and the volleyball counterpart Maharlika Pilipinas Volleyball Association (MPVA). It first began play as an amateur league in January 2025 with an invitational tournament before turning pro in April that year. Zamboanga Sikat
The Zamboanga Sikat (stylized as Zamboanga SiKAT), alternatively known as Sikat Zamboanga, is a Filipino professional basketball team based in Zamboanga City. The team currently competes in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) as a member of the league's South Division. The team plays its home games at Mayor Vitaliano D. Agan Coliseum. The team was established in 2019 after splitting from the Zamboanga Valientes due to undisclosed management issues. The new team was then named the Zamboanga Family's Brand Sardines, and later renamed to Zamboanga Master Sardines in 2024. Universal Canning Inc. served as the team's title sponsor from 2019 to 2024. The Araneta Coliseum, also currently known by naming rights sponsorship as Smart Araneta Coliseum, is an indoor multi-purpose sports arena that is part of the Araneta City in the Cubao area of Quezon City, Philippines. Snow Badua
Edmund "Snow" Pineda Badua (born April 22, 1977) is a Filipino sports journalist writing articles for Spin.ph. He is also the founder of "PTV Sports", a nightly sports newscast aired on PTV which served as his home network from March 2006 to January 2015. Badua also served as the first commissioner of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) in 2017. He was succeeded by Kenneth Duremdes before the league's inaugural season began. Bulacan Kuyas
The Bulacan Kuyas are a Filipino professional basketball team based in Baliwag, Bulacan. The team competes in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) as a member of the league's North Division. The team most recently played its home games at Baliwag Star Arena.
