M90 Motorway
The M90 is a major controlled-access highway, motorway in Scotland. It runs from Junction 1A of the M9 motorway (Scotland), M9 motorway, south of the Queensferry Crossing, to Perth, Scotland, Perth. It is the northernmost motorway in the United Kingdom. The northern point of the motorway splits into two between the Broxden Junction, Broxden Roundabout (Leading to Perth and the A9 road (Scotland) , A9 towards Inverness and Thurso) and the A90 road (Scotland) , A90 towards Dundee and Aberdeen. The southern point leads into the M9 motorway (Scotland) , M9 towards Stirling and the M8 motorway (Scotland) , M8 towards Edinburgh and Glasgow. A small part of the M90 (across the Friarton Bridge to the southeast of Perth) was originally numbered as the M85 motorway. History The first section of the M90 opened in 1964 to coincide with the opening of the Forth Road Bridge and the A823(M) (Junction 2). M9 Motorway (Scotland)
The M9 is a major motorway in Scotland. It runs from the outskirts of Edinburgh, Bypass route, bypassing the towns of Linlithgow, Falkirk, Grangemouth and Stirling to end at Dunblane. History The first section was Polmont and Falkirk Bypass which opened on 28 August 1968 This was followed by the Newbridge Bypass which opened on 25 November 1970, the third section Lathalllan to Muriehall (Linlithgow), which joined the two together opened on 18 December 1972. In April 2022, work began on a new junction at Winchburgh. Winchburgh Developments contributed £40 million towards the construction cost. Route The road is approximately long, and runs in a roughly north-west direction from the M8 motorway (Scotland), M8. It meets the A8 road (Great Britain), A8 at Newbridge – a traffic blackspot before the junction was grade separation, grade separated.
