M6 Group
Métropole Télévision SA, commonly known as Groupe M6 (), is a French media holding company. It was formed around the commercial television channel M6, launched in March 1987 by the CLT ( RTL Télévision) and La Lyonnaise des Eaux. In addition to its audiovisual and digital media presence, some of the group's television channels are operated (including M6, W9, 6ter, Paris Première, Téva, Série Club) as well as the former television channels of the Lagardères ( Gulli, Canal J, TiJi, MCM, MCM Top and RFM TV), radio stations ( RTL, RTL2 and Fun Radio), and film and television production and distribution companies. The company has also been presenting information and services on the Internet, including online video and computer companies. Since 1999, the group has also diversified into publishing, music and show production, distance selling, and sport with the Football Club of the Girondins de Bordeaux. The CAC Mid 60 (formerly the CAC Mid 100) is a stock market index used by the Paris Bourse. It is a Market capitalization#Market cap terms, mid-cap index which represents the 60 largest French equities after the CAC 40 and the CAC Next 20. The index was inaugurated in 2005, with the number of index constituents being reduced from 100 to 60 in March 2011. RTL (French Radio)
RTL is a French commercial radio network owned by the RTL Group through Groupe M6. Founded in 1933 as Radio Luxembourg, it broadcast from outside of France until 1981 because only public stations had been allowed until then. It is a general-interest, news, talk and music station, broadcasting nationally (" category E" as classified by the CSA) in France, Francophone Belgium, and Luxembourg. MCM Top
MCM Top is a French music video TV channel owned by Groupe M6. History To enrich its offer of music channels, Lagardère Active launched on November 28, 2003 MCM Music + channels. It was then composed of three channels : MCM, MCM Pop, replacing MCM 2 and MCM Top (newly created). The latter continuously broadcasts current music videos and the target population is 15 to 24 years old. On June 13, 2007, the channel was reformatted and became interactive. New programs like "Fais Ton Top" and "Fais Ton Club" allow to vote by SMS between two clips for the next clip. MCM (originally an acronym for Monte-Carlo Musique, later Ma Chaîne Musicale) is a French music video and entertainment TV channel owned by Groupe M6. Canal J (stylised as canal J, ) is a French pay television channel dedicated to children's programming. It is aimed at children aged 7 to 12. On 1 February 2019, M6 Group entered negotiations to acquire the television unit of Lagardère Active including Canal J. Gulli
Gulli (; stylised as gulli) is a French free-to-air television channel focused on kids' programming for those aged 3 to 14. It was created as a result of a partnership between Lagardère Active and state-owned broadcaster France Télévisions. In 2019, Groupe M6 bought Gulli as well as the television division of Lagardère Active. History The channel was launched on 18 November 2005 on the digital terrestrial television platform in France.
