M24 (Pretoria)
The M24 road is a metropolitan route in the City of Tshwane in Gauteng, South Africa. It is in the city of Centurion, connecting Valhalla with Lyttelton. Route The M24 route begins at a junction with the R55 route (Quagga Road) just south of Claudius and north of Sunderland Ridge. It begins by heading north-east as Stephanus Schoeman Road before turning to the east as Alaric Road to pass in-between the suburbs of Thaba Tshwane to the north and Valhalla to the south. It reaches a junction with Paul Kruger Road at the South African Air Force College and becomes Paul Kruger Road eastwards to cross the R101 route (Old Johannesburg Road). The City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality (also known as the City of Tshwane) () is the metropolitan municipality that forms the local government of northern Gauteng Province, South Africa. Laudium () is an Indian township (apartheid classification) in southwest of central Pretoria, in the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality. Claudius is a residential suburb that is effectively an extension of Laudium. History Older aerial photographs show remains of circular type dwellings to the west of Laudium, built by its earliest inhabitants. The original name for Laudium was ''Claudius'', and it was initially planned as a white area, named after Claudius Marais de Vries who owned a farm called ''Mooiplats'' and was a former mayor of Pretoria. Centurion, South Africa
Centurion (previously known as Verwoerdburg and before that Lyttelton) is an area with 236,580 inhabitants (2011 census) in the Gauteng Province of South Africa, between Pretoria and Midrand (Johannesburg). Formerly an independent municipality, with its own town council, it has been part of the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality since 2000. The R55 is a north-south provincial route in Gauteng, South Africa that connects Sandton with Pretoria. It passes Woodmead, Kyalami, Olievenhoutbosch, Heuweloord, Sunderland Ridge, Erasmia, Laudium/Claudius, West Park, the Daspoort Tunnel and Danville. It connects with the M1, N14, and R80 highways. R101 (South Africa)
The R101 is a Regional Route in South Africa that is the designation for some of the old sections of roads that were previously the N1, prior to upgrading. It only has 2 sections, from Bellville to Worcester and from Johannesburg to Polokwane. Western Cape The R101 starts in Bellville at the R102 running to the east parallel to the newer N1 freeway and is named 'Old Paarl Road'. It then goes through Brackenfell before entering Kraaifontein as 'Voortrekker Road'. At the intersection with Maroela Road in Kraaifontein East it is renamed 'Old Paarl Road' before entering the Cape Winelands. In the Cape Winelands it goes through Klapmuts and then enters Paarl.
