M. Fathima Beevi
M. Fathima Beevi (30 April 1927 – 23 November 2023) was an Indian judge who was a List of former justices of the Supreme Court of India, justice of the Supreme Court of India. Appointed to the apex Court in 1989, she became the first female judge to be a part of the Supreme Court of India, and the first Muslim woman to be appointed to any of the higher judiciaries in the country. On her retirement from the court, she served as a member of the National Human Rights Commission (India), National Human Rights Commission and later as the Governor of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu from 1997 to 2001. In 2023, she was honoured with Kerala Awards, Kerala Prabha Award, the second-highest honour given by the Government of Kerala. Krishan Kant
Krishan Kant (28 February 1927 – 27 July 2002) was an Indian politician who served as the vice president of India from 1997 until his death in 2002. Prior to his vice presidency, Kant was the governor of Andhra Pradesh from 1990 to 1997. He was a member of both houses of the Indian Parliament, representing Chandigarh in the Lok Sabha from 1977 to 1980, and Haryana in the Rajya Sabha from 1966 to 1977. Kant was born to parents who were independence activists in Punjab, British India, and was himself arrested in Lahore during the Quit India movement. Rowther
The Rowther (anglicised as ''Irauttar'', ''Rawther, Ravuttar,'' ''Ravutta'', ''Ravuthar, Ravuthamar'') are a distinct Muslim community living largely in the south Indian states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. While some of them are partially descended from Turkic people who settled in the Chola kingdom for horse trading and cavalry roles, the majority descend from Native warrior clan populations who converted to Islam under the influence of saints like Nathar Shah (Nathar Wali) in 10th–11th centuries. Muthuvel Karunanidhi (3 June 1924 – 7 August 2018), also known as Kalaignar (Artist), was an Indian writer and politician who served as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for almost two decades over five terms between 1969 and 2011. The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh is the common high court for union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
