Lütfü Savaş
Lütfü Savaş (born 23 March 1965, Yayladağı) is a Turkish politician, doctor and former mayor of Hatay Province of Turkey. Early life and education Savaş was born in the Dağdüzü village in the Yayladağı district of the province of Hatay. He is of Turkmen origin and has Syrian Turkmen relatives in Syria. He grew up in Antakya's Havuzlar neighborhood. In 1990, he graduated from the Medical School of Anadolu University in Eskişehir. Career He took part in the establishment of Mustafa Kemal University Mustafa Kemal University ( tr, Mustafa Kemal Üniversitesi), abbreviated as MKU, is a public university established 1992 at Antakya, Hatay Province in southern Turkey. It is named after the founder of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatür ...'s Medical School. He became an associate professor in 2007. Hatay Province ( tr, Hatay ili, ) is the southernmost province of Turkey. It is situated almost entirely outside Anatolia, along the eastern coast of the Levantine Sea. The province borders Syria to its south and east, the Turkish province of Adana to the northwest, Osmaniye to the north, and Gaziantep to the northeast. It is partially in Çukurova, a large fertile plain along Cilicia. Its administrative capital is Antakya, making it the only Turkish province not named after its administrative capital or any settlement.
