Life

Ngabo studied chemistry, but kept up his musical interests and wrote the screenplay for a short film and a fairy tale. With the support of a Swiss film-maker, he secured an advance for a full-length feature film. Gito L'ingrat
''Gito, l'ingrat'' (, "Gito the Ingrate") is a 1992 Burundian comedy film directed by Léonce Ngabo. Synopsis Gito is a Burundian student who lives in Paris. When he finishes his studies, he decides to go back to his country and promises his French girlfriend that he will call her when he becomes a minister, something that he is convinced that will happen. However, he loses gradually his ambition as he is confronted with the country reality. He thus starts going out again with his childhood loved one. Nevertheless, he will make the best of a bad deal, with the help of the two women of his life. This is Burundi's first feature film, co-produced with Switzerland and France. Africultures
''Africultures'' is a publication of arts and culture about and from Africa and its diasporas. Based in Paris, it was founded in 1997 under the impetus of Olivier Barlet by journalists and academics such as Virginie Andriamirado, Gérald Arnaud, Tanella Boni, Sylvie Chalaye, Christophe Cassiau-Haurie, Fayçal Chehat, Soeuf Elbadawi, Boniface Mongo-Mboussa, etc. The magazine is managed by the association Africultures and it is published by L'Harmattan. Since 2012 the documentation produced by the magazine and its database made of over 45,000 biographies of artists and 55,000 description of books, music, films and institutions has been released under the open Creative Commons attribution share alike license. In July 2007 it launched, 10 years after its creation, another organ, Afriscope, devoted to news on the same field, arts and culture related to Africa and African diasporas, while also covering topics related to social life. International Festival Of Cinema And Broadcasting In Burundi
The International Festival of Cinema and Audiovisual of Burundi (FESTICAB) is an annual film festival held in Burundi. FESTICAB was established by the film director Léonce Ngabo in 2009. It comprises competitions in three categories: Burundian films, East African films and international films. At the 2011 FESTICAB the East African Film Network (EAFN) was founded.From AfryKamera to FESTICAB

The 2015 FESTICAB was disrupted by the protests against Pierre Nkurunziza, President Nkurunziza running for a third term, and many screenings needed to be cancelled.
