Lysinibacillus
''Lysinibacillus'' is a genus of bacteria from the family of Bacillaceae. Members of this genus, in contrast to the type species of the genus ''Bacillus'', contains peptidoglycan with lysine, aspartic acid, alanine and glutamic acid. Phylogeny The currently accepted taxonomy is based on the List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature (LPSN) and National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) ''Lysinibacillus'' species assigned to other genera: * ''Lysinibacillus alkaliphilus, L. alkaliphilus'' Zhao et al. 2015 * ''Lysinibacillus alkalisoli, L. alkalisoli'' Sun, Xu & Wu 2017 * ''Lysinibacillus antri, L. antri'' Narsing Rao et al. 2020 * ''Lysinibacillus composti, L. composti'' Hayat et al. 2014 * ''Lysinibacillus endophyticus, L. endophyticus'' Yu et al. 2017 * ''Lysinibacillus halotolerans, L. halotolerans'' Kong et al. 2014 * ''Lysinibacillus louembei, L. louembei'' Ouoba et al. 2015 * ''Lysinibacillus meyeri, L. meyeri'' Seiler, Scherer & Wenning 2013 * ''L. ... Lysinibacillus Fusiformis
''Lysinibacillus fusiformis'' (commonly abbreviated ''L. fusiformis'') is a gram-positive, rod-shaped bacterium of the genus ''Lysinibacillus''. Scientists have yet to completely characterize this microbe's pathogenic nature. Though little is known about this organism, several genome sequencing projects for various strain (biology), strains of ''L. fusiformis'' are currently underway."Lysinibacillus Fusiformis." National Center for Biotechnology Information. U.S. National Library of Medicine, n.d. Web. 29 Apr. 2014. History ''Lysinibacillus fusiformis'' was initially isolated from the surface of beta vulgaris by Germans, German biologist Dr. O. Gottheil in 1901. Dr. Gottheil used a variety of isolation (health care), isolation techniques, which included cultivating the organism on carrot and beet slices. ''L. fusiformis'' was originally known as ''Bacillus fusiformis'' prior to 2007; at which point it was reclassified to the genus ''Lysinibacillus'', along with its close Kinship, ... Lysinibacillus Sphaericus
''Lysinibacillus sphaericus'' (previously known as ''Bacillus sphaericus'') is a Gram-positive, mesophilic, rod-shaped bacterium commonly found on soil. It can form resistant endospores that are tolerant to high temperatures, chemicals and ultraviolet light and can remain viable for long periods of time. It is of particular interest to the World Health Organization due to the larvicide effect of some strains against two mosquito genera (''Culex'' and ''Anopheles''), more effective than ''Bacillus thuringiensis'', frequently used as a biological pest control. ''L. sphaericus'' cells in a vegetative state are also effective against ''Aedes aegypti'' larvae, an important vector of yellow fever and dengue viruses. A bacterium similar to this species was found in a 25-million-year-old amber from the Dominican Republic. The endospore was successfully revived. Classification The reclassification from ''Bacillus sphaericus'' to ''Lysinibacillus sphaericus'' is based on the fact that ...
