Lviv Battalion (Ukraine)
The Lviv Battalion is a battalion of the Special Tasks Patrol Police subordinated to Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. The regiment is based in Lviv. It was established in 2014 in the wake of the War in Donbass and has, since then seen regular combat on the frontlines. History On 16 April 2014, the Lviv Battalion was established in the Lviv Oblast to operate in the ATO zone as well as for law enforcement in Lviv Oblast, tasked to ensure the protection of life, rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of citizens, society and the state from criminal and other illegal organization, to maintain public order and ensure safety in the ATO zone as well as Lviv Oblast. The Lviv Regional State Administration also developed measures for the support of the battalion. Makarov Pistol
The Makarov pistol or PM ( rus, Пистолет Макарова, r=Pistolet Makarova, p=pʲɪstɐˈlʲet mɐˈkarəvə, t=Makarov's Pistol) is a Soviet semi-automatic pistol. Under the project leadership of Nikolay Fyodorovich Makarov, it became the Soviet Union's Service pistol, standard military and Militsiya Sidearm (weapon), side arm in 1951. Development Shortly after the Second World War, the Soviet Union reactivated its plans to replace the TT pistols and Nagant M1895 revolvers. The adoption of the future AK assault rifle relegated the pistol to a light, handy self-defense weapon. The TT was unsuited for such a role, as it was heavy and bulky. Also, the Tokarev pistols omitted a safety and magazines were deemed too easy to lose.
