Lussier Hot Springs
Lussier Hot Springs is an undeveloped hot spring just inside Whiteswan Lake Provincial Park in British Columbia, a province of Canada. History The hot springs are in traditional territory of the Ktunaxa people. In the early 20th century, the springs were used by prospectors, trappers and guides. Features The springs are made up of several rock pools with gravel bottoms. The hottest pool is up to 43°C, and then the water cools to about 37°C as it flows down through the rest towards the Lussier River. Albert-Alexandre Lussier
Albert-Alexandre Lussier (March 22, 1842 – December 18, 1909) was a seigneur and political figure in Quebec. He represented Verchères in the Legislative Assembly of Quebec from 1886 to 1897 as a Liberal. He was born in Varennes, Canada East, the son of seigneur Félix Lussier and Angélique Deschamps, and was educated at the Collège Saint-Paul, Collège Masson and the agricultural college at Sainte-Thérèse. Lussier became seigneur of Varennes on his father's death. He also served as justice of the peace and municipal councillor. In 1874, Lussier married Marie-Louise, the daughter of seigneur Gaspard-Aimé Massue. Lussier River
The Lussier River is a tributary of the Kootenay River in the Canadian province of British Columbia. It is part of the Columbia River basin, as the Kootenay River is a tributary of the Columbia River. It was named by David Thompson in 1808 after one of his men who had lost his kit in the Moyie River. Course The Lussier River originates in Top of the World Provincial Park. Marcel Lussier (born June 30, 1944) is a Canadian politician and the former Member of Parliament for the riding of Brossard—La Prairie. Lussier was born in Saint-Damase, Quebec. Lussier was an unsuccessful candidate for the Parti Québécois in La Pinière in the 2003 Quebec election. He ran for office as a member of the Bloc Québécois in the 2004 federal election, but was defeated by Jacques Saada. In the 2006 election he ran again, defeating Saada by approximately two per cent of the vote. He served as the party's critic for Environment. Prior to being elected, he had worked as an engineer. André Lussier (1933–2009) was a physician, rheumatologist, and professor at the School of Medicine of the Université de Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. He was born and died in Sherbrooke. He completed his classical studies and Baccalauréat ès-art at the Séminaire Oblat de Chambly and at the Collège de Montréal (Université de Montréal). He then completed his residency in internal medicine at the Hôpital Notre-Dame de Montréal. From 1963 to 1964, he pursued a "clinical and research fellowship" in rheumatology at the University of Pennsylvania under the supervision of Dr. Joseph Hollander.
