Lusk (band)
Lusk was an American psychedelic rock supergroup featuring members from Tool, Replicants, Failure and Medicine. History The band formed when bassist Paul D'Amour, having recently departed from Tool, and keyboardist Chris Pitman got together. Greg Edwards and Brad Laner joined them shortly afterward. Their only album '' Free Mars'' was released in 1997 on Volcano Entertainment. Though the album was not extremely successful, it was nominated for a Grammy in 1998 for Best Recording Package. The music video for Backworlds, co-directed by D'Amour and Len E. Burge III, was featured on MTV's 120 Minutes and 12 Angry Viewers. Legal troubles with their label Volcano Entertainment which was undergoing a transformation coupled with increasing activities apart from the group by all members caused Lusk to quietly disband in the late 1990s. Daniel Edwin Carey (born May 10, 1961) is an American musician who is the drummer for the progressive metal band Tool. Free Mars
''Free Mars'' is the only album by the experimental psychedelic rock project Lusk, released in 1997 in a Digipak-style case. The album features an appearance by Tool drummer Danny Carey, as well as an assortment of artists and musicians from the Los Angeles scene. Lusk included Paul D'Amour (formerly of Tool), Brad Laner (Medicine), Chris Pitman (Guns N' Roses), and Failure and Autolux member Greg Edwards . (D'Amour, Edwards, and Pitman were also members of Replicants.) A 7" vinyl single for "Backworlds" was also released, backed with "The Hotel Family Affair." The video for "Backworlds" got good reception on MTV. A supergroup is a musical group formed of members who are already successful as solo artists or as members of other successful groups. The term became popular in the late 1960s when members of already successful rock groups Collaborative_album, recorded albums together, after which they normally disbanded. Chris Wyse (born July 15, 1969) is an American bassist and vocalist. He is best known for his performances with The Cult, Ozzy Osbourne, Ace Frehley and Hollywood Vampires. He is also the vocalist and bassist for Owl, a band he founded in 2007. Early life Wyse is a first-generation Irish American and was born in Queens, New York. He discovered the music of Kiss, The Doors, and Led Zeppelin in grade school, and was inspired by Iron Maiden's Steve Harris to play bass. Brad Laner (born November 6, 1966, in Los Angeles, California) is an American musician and record producer best known for his work with the shoegaze band Medicine (band), Medicine, which he founded and led.
