"Luna Eclipsed" is the fourth episode of the second season of the animated television series '' My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic''. The episode was written by M.A. Larson. It originally aired on The Hub on October 22, 2011. In this episode, Princess Luna visits Ponyville during the festival of Nightmare Night, but her outdated mannerisms and the ponies' fear cause problems. Plot Twilight Sparkle, in her Star Swirl the Bearded costume, and Spike join Ponyville's Nightmare Night festival and encounter trick-or-treaters chaperoned by Granny Smith. When they arrive at the festival, Pinkie Pie appears in a chicken costume and leads a group of young ponies to various activities throughout the town. ''My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic'' is an animated television series based on Hasbro's ''My Little Pony'' franchise. The series follows a studious pony named Twilight Sparkle (Tara Strong), her dragon assistant Spike (Cathy Weseluck) and her friends, Applejack (My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic), Applejack (Ashleigh Ball), Rarity (My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic), Rarity (Tabitha St. Germain), Fluttershy (Andrea Libman), Rainbow Dash (Ball) and Pinkie Pie (Libman). The six pony friends, collectively known as the "Mane Six", go on adventures and help others around Equestria, solving problems with their friendships.
