Lumberjanes
''Lumberjanes'' is a comic book series created by Shannon Watters, Grace Ellis, Gus Allen, and ND Stevenson and published via the ''Boom Box!'' imprint of Boom! Studios. The story follows a group of girls spending summer at a scout camp, and the strange creatures and supernatural phenomena they encounter there. Originally planned as an eight-part series, the comic was made an ongoing series following strong sales and critical acclaim. The comic series came to a close after 75 issues with a one-shot finale in December 2020, ending its six-year-run. Publication history ''Lumberjanes'' came about as the result of Boom! Studios editor Shannon Watters approaching writer Grace Ellis in the hopes of creating a girl-centric comic series. Nate Diana "Indy" Stevenson (born Noelle Diana Stevenson, December 31, 1991), known professionally as ND Stevenson, is an American cartoonist and animation producer. He is the creator, showrunner, and executive producer of the animated television series ''She-Ra and the Princesses of Power'', which ran from 2018 to 2020. He is also known for the science fantasy graphic novel ''Nimona'', as co-writer of the comic series ''Lumberjanes'', and ''The Fire Never Goes Out'', his autobiographical collection. Stevenson's work has won multiple Eisner Awards as well as a Daytime Emmy Award and a GLAAD Media Award. Grace Ellis
Grace Ellis is an American journalist, comics and television writer. She won the Eisner Award for Best New Series and Best Publication for Teens in 2015 for ''Lumberjanes'' and Best Reality-Based Work in 2023 for ''Flung Out of Space'' and was nominated for Best Writer. Career After college, Ellis worked for Autostraddle where, during an annual sleepaway camp the site hosted, she met Shannon Watters, who was a writer and editor at Boom! Studios. Watters recommended that they make a comic together and they came up with the idea for ''Lumberjanes''. The first issue of ''Lumberjanes'' was the first comic Ellis had ever written. Boom! Studios (stylized as BOOM! Studios), is an American comic book and graphic novel publisher. They are headquartered in Los Angeles, California, United States. The company is a subsidiary of Random House division of Penguin Random House since September 2024. History 2000s Ross Richie and Andrew Cosby had been working in Hollywood with Dave Elliott and Garry Leach in 2004 to revive 1980s comic book publishing house Atomeka Press. Caroline Elizabeth Pietsch (born November 11, 1988), known professionally as Carey Pietsch, is an American cartoonist, illustrator and artist. She is best known for her work on several webcomics and on ''The Adventure Zone'' series of graphic novels. Her father, Michael Pietsch, is the CEO of Hachette Book Group. Early life and career Pietsch grew up in Ossining, New York, and graduated from Swarthmore College in 2010. Mariko Tamaki
Mariko Tamaki (born 1975) is a Canadian artist and writer. She is known for her graphic novels '' Skim'', ''Emiko Superstar,'' and '' This One Summer''."Mariko Tamaki". Lilah Sturges (; born Matthew Sturges, October 1970) is an American writer of comics and fantasy novels. She is best known for co-writing with Bill Willingham the Eisner-award-nominated '' Jack of Fables'', and other comics published by Vertigo Comics / DC Comics. Career In the 1990s, Sturges was a member of the writers' collective Clockwork Storybook, which also included Willingham, Chris Roberson, and Mark Finn.
