Lukáš Vlček
Lukáš Vlček (born 27 February 1982) is a Czech politician and businessman who has served as Czech Minister of Industry and Trade in Petr Fiala's Cabinet since October 2024 and as first vice-chairman of Mayors and Independents since July 2022. He has been both a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic and mayor of Pacov since 2021. Vlček previously served as a representative of the Vysočina Region from 2012 until 2021. Early life and education Vlček was born on 27 February 1982 in Pelhřimov. He graduated with a master's degree in regional development and administration at Masaryk University, Faculty of Economics and Administration. Since 2006, he has been the deputy chairman of the board of the joint-stock company Sompo, which provides comprehensive services in the field of waste management. 2024 Czech Regional Elections
2024 Czech regional elections were held on 20 and 21 September 2024 to elect all 675 members of all 13 Czech regional councils. The regional elections are held together with the first round of the 2024 Czech Senate election. The election resulted in landslide victory for ANO (political party), ANO which won 292 of 675 seats and finished first in 10 of 13 regions. Civic Democratic Party (Czech Republic), Civic Democratic Party of Prime Minister Petr Fiala finished second with 106 seats. ANO didn't win in South Bohemian region, South Moravian region and Liberec region. Victory in South Bohemian region was viewed as the only large win for Civic Democrats. It was attributed to South Bohemian Governor Martin Kuba who was seen as biggest victor of regional elections as he won 47.5% of votes and majority in South Bohemian assembly. 2022 Czech Municipal Elections
Municipal elections were held in the Czech Republic on 23 and 24 September 2022. Campaign Mayors and Independents (STAN) STAN launched the spring phase of its campaign on 19 April 2022. Party leader Vít Rakušan called it a "key election" and the party thus chose a Key as a symbol for the party campaign. Rakušan stated that the party wants to show smart and inspirative solutions from experience. The party also introduced the "I want to run" ("Chci kandidovat") project, which aims to help people enter politics.
