Luciano "Luke" Eduardo Snyder (also Grimaldi) is a fictional character from the American daytime drama ''As the World Turns''. Actor Van Hansis is most recognized for his portrayal of Luke from his debut in December 2005 until the series finale in September 2010. Luke was born to Lily Walsh Snyder, Lily Walsh and Damian Grimaldi, and was subsequently raised by Lily and Holden Snyder (see Holden Snyder and Lily Walsh). Van Hansis (born Evan Vanfossen Hansis on September 25, 1981) is an American actor. Hansis portrayed the rich Luke Snyder on the CBS soap opera ''As the World Turns'' from December 14, 2005 until the show's final episode September 17, 2010. The son of long running characters on the series, Luke is known for a gay romantic storyline cited as one of the first in American daytime television. Hansis has had guest roles on several television series and starred in the 2011 thriller (genre), thriller film ''Occupant (film), Occupant''. Soap opera rapid aging syndrome (SORAS) is the practice of accelerating the age of a television or film character (usually a child or teenager) in conflict with the timeline of a series or the real-world progression of time. This allows, for instance, storylines around a pregnancy and birth to be relatively quickly followed by storylines around the travails of that child as a teenager or young adult. Luke Snyder and Noah Mayer are fictional characters and a supercouple from the American CBS daytime drama ''As the World Turns''.
