Luke Killeen
Luke Killeen (born 16 April 2005) is an Australian born British speedway rider. He currently rides in the first and second tiers of British Speedway, for the Oxford Cheetahs in the SGB Championship and the Oxford Spires in the SGB Premiership Speedway career Killeen came to prominence when he won the Australian 125cc national title in 2020. For the 2022 season, he signed for the newly reformed Oxford Speedway National Development League team called the Oxford Chargers. After a four month delay with passport issues he made his debut. The 2023 SGB Championship season (sponsored by Cab Direct) was the 76th season of the second tier of Speedway in the United Kingdom, British Speedway and the 6th known as the SGB Championship. The British Speedway Network (BSN) streamed 35 matches live for the second year running. Summary Nine clubs competed in the Championship in 2023, with Edinburgh Monarchs remaining in the league despite problems surrounding their home venue. The only change to the league was Leicester Lions, who left for the higher league of the SGB Premiership 2023. The league format was the same as in 2022, with each team racing against each other twice (home and away), meaning a total of 16 fixtures each during the season. The Oxford Cheetahs are a British Motorcycle speedway, speedway teamLawson,K (2018) “Riders, Teams and Stadiums”. based at Oxford Stadium, in Oxford, England. They were founded in 1939 and are five times champions of Britain, in 1964 Speedway National League, 1964, 1985 British League season, 1985, 1986 British League season, 1986, 1989 British League season, 1989 and 2001 Elite League speedway season, 2001. National Development League
The National Development League formerly called the National League was formed in 2009 as the third division of speedway in the United Kingdom, replacing the Conference League. It follows the same rules and regulations as the SGB Premiership and SGB Championship, including the use of rider averages. It is however regarded as the league for junior riders or in some cases other riders returning to the sport. History There were two previous speedway leagues in Britain sharing the 'National League' name, the main league that operated from 1932 to 1964, and British League Division Two, which was renamed the National League between 1975 and 1990.
