Luiz Gonzaga Belluzzo
Luiz Gonzaga de Mello Belluzzo (Bariri, October 29, 1942), better known as Luiz Gonzaga Belluzzo or just Belluzzo, is a Brazilian economist and professor, and former president of Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras. Biography As a young man, Belluzzo was a seminarian of the Society of Jesus and a student at St. Louis College. He graduated in Law School at the University of São Paulo in 1965, and also studied Social Sciences at the Faculty of Philosophy, Languages, and Human Sciences at the same university. He entered the post-graduate course in Economic Development, promoted by ECLAC/ILPES, and graduated in 1969. He was a collaborating professor at the State University of Campinas, where he received his doctorate in 1975 and became full professor in 1986. Belluzzo was economic advisor to the PMDB between 1974 and 1992 and Secretary of Economic Policy at the Ministry of Finance during José Sarney's government, from 1985 to 1987. Bariri
Bariri is a municipality in the state of São Paulo in Brazil. The population is 35,558 (2020 est.) in an area of 444 km2. The elevation is 447 m (1467 ft). Mário Henrique Simonsen
Mário Henrique Simonsen (19 February 1935 – 9 February 1997) was a Brazilian economist, who served as Brazil's finance minister from 1974 to 1979. Simonsen was appointed Brazil's finance minister by President Ernesto Geisel with instructions to reduce the country's runaway inflation rate. Despite Simonsen's efforts, the official inflation rate had risen to 40% ''per annum'' in 1979 and he was shifted to Planning Minister. He was succeeded by Antonio Delfim Netto, with whom he had an uneasy relationship due to the latter's inclination to increase borrowing, and hence inflation. Simonsen resigned from Cabinet in 1980 and became a director of Citicorp, a position he held until 1995 when he was forced by ill-health to retire. He served in a number of capacities, including Brazilian ambassador to the United States and to the United Kingdom, minister of planning for the government of Castelo Branco, during the Brazilian military dictatorship, and congressman. Júlio Cernadas Pereira (13 January 1929 – 11 October 2007), commonly known as Juca, was a Portuguese football midfielder and coach. Most of his career was associated with Sporting CP, as both player and manager. Playing career The son of Portuguese parents who had settled in Mozambique, Juca was born in Lourenço Marques, and started playing professionally with local Sporting de Lourenço Marques as a goalkeeper.
