Luis Johnson
Luis Johnson (born 20 February 1999) is a professional rugby league footballer who plays as a forward for the Castleford Tigers in the Super League. He has previously played for the Warrington Wolves and Hull Kingston Rovers in the Super League. He has spent time on dual registration and loan from Warrington at the Rochdale Hornets and the Widnes Vikings in the Championship, and on dual registration and loan from Hull KR at the Dewsbury Rams in the Championship and the Castleford Tigers ( Heritage No. 1028) in Super League. Background Johnson was born in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England and is of English and Jamaican descent. He started his amateur career at Oulton Raiders in Leeds at 4 years of age and was selected by the Castleford Tigers at 15 years old to join their scholarship programme. He went on to their academy programme but, in 2018, the Warrington Wolves bought him out of his contract for £45,000 and Johnson signed a 3-year deal to join the club. Career ... Catalans Dragons
The Catalans Dragons (French: ''Dragons Catalans'', Catalan: ''Dracs Catalans'') are a professional rugby league club from Perpignan, Pyrénées-Orientales department, France. The team competes in the Super League and are the only team from outside England. The Dragons play regular home games at Stade Gilbert Brutus in the centre of the city. Catalans Dragons are the first non-British team to win the Challenge Cup since the competition started in 1896, after beating Warrington Wolves 20–14 at Wembley Stadium on 25 August 2018. 2019 Widnes Vikings Season
In the 2019 rugby league season, Widnes Vikings competed in the RFL Championship, the Challenge Cup and the 1895 Cup. It was the first season since their relegation from the Super League at the end of 2018. Widnes began the season on -12 points after going into administration, but following a takeover and the appointment of a new board of directors the club were able to maintain their Championship status and reach the final of the 1895 Cup. 2019 RFL Championship
The 2019 Rugby Football League Championship was a rugby league football competition played primarily in England but including teams from Canada and France. It is the second tier of the three tiers of professional rugby league in England, below Super League and above League 1. Following rule changes agreed at the end of the 2018 season, the Super 8's format has been abandoned and the Championship will feature a play-off system leading to promotion to Super League for one club while results during the regular season will lead to relegation to League 1 for two teams. The 2018 Rugby Football League Championship is a rugby league football competition played primarily in the United Kingdom, one tier below the first tier Super League. The 2018 season is the fourth to consist of the Super 8s structure combining the Championship and Super League three-quarters of the way through the season. The 2018 Championship features 12 teams, which all play one another twice in the regular season, once at home, and once away, totalling 22 games. Super League XXV, known as the Betfred Super League for sponsorship reasons, was the 25th season of the Super League and 126th season of rugby league in Great Britain. St Helens were the reigning champions going into Super League XXV. At the start of the season, it consisted of twelve professional rugby league teams: ten from England, one from Canada, and one from France. Super League XXIV, known as the Betfred Super League XXIV for sponsorship reasons, was the 2019 iteration of and the 24th season of the Super League and 125th season of rugby league in Great Britain. Twelve teams competed over 29 rounds, including the Magic Weekend, which took place at Anfield.
