Luis Contreras (September 18, 1950 – June 20, 2004) was an American character actor. The son of actor Roberto Contreras, his film debut was in ''Close Encounters of the Third Kind''. Contreras often played the parts of bums, gang members, police officers, prison inmates, and criminals. One of the typical roles that he played as a gang member or criminal was that of Jesus in '' Walking the Edge''. Luis Edgardo Contreras Reyes (born 27 October 1982) is a Salvadoran former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He made six appearances for the El Salvador national team from 2014 to 2016. Club career Nicknamed ''El Motor'', Contreras played his entire career in El Salvador. He played for FAS (two spells), Águila, Sonsonate, Chalatenango, and Isidro Metapán. In April 2020, he was released from Isidro Metapán. International career Contreras made his debut for the El Salvador national team in 2014, and was selected for the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup squad. He made a total of six appearances for his home country. Luis Contreras (born March 14, 1986) is a Mexican thoroughbred jockey since 2006. After starting his career in Mexico, Contreras started competing in the United States and Canada during the late 2000s. For his graded stakes race career, Contreras has won forty Grade III races, twenty two Grade II races and four Grade I races. At the 2011 Canadian Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing, Contreras won the Queen's Plate, Prince of Wales Stakes, and Breeders' Stakes. He became the first jockey to use two horses to win the Canadian Triple Crown. In 2014, Contreras came short of another Canadian Triple Crown after finishing tenth at the Breeders' Stakes following wins at the Queen's Plate and Prince of Wales. As part of the Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing, Contreras's best results were third at the 2014 Preakness Stakes and sixth at the 2018 Kentucky Derby.
