Ludvig Johan Bakkevig
Ludvig Johan Bakkevig (11 October 1921 – 21 April 2013) was a Norwegian engineer and Christian leader. He was born in Haugesund, and graduated from the Norwegian Institute of Technology in 1947. He was an engineer by profession, working for Oslo Lysverker from 1947 to 1949 and Thor Furuholmen until 1974. He was the chief executive of Ringsakerhus from 1974 to 1977 and director of the building division in Norconsult from 1977 to 1980. From 1980 to 1987 he was the chief executive and chair of Alwatech. His specialty was tunnelling, as a co-founder of the Norwegian Tunneling Society and active in the International Tunnelling Association. He has also worked on hydroelectricity projects in Jordan and Nepal. He was also manager in the Norwegian Missionary Society in the 1970s. In religious circles he is best known as leader of the Church of Norway National Council from 1978 to 1986. Haugesund () is a municipalities of Norway, municipality and List of towns and cities in Norway, town on the North Sea in Rogaland county, Norway. As of December 2023, the municipality of Haugesund has a population of 37,855. The vast majority of the population (37,008) live in the Haugesund urban area in the municipality's southwest. The Haugesund urban area also extends into neighboring Karmøy municipality and has a combined population of 46,359. Haugesund is the main commercial and economic centre of the Haugaland region in northern Rogaland and southern Vestland. The majority of the municipality outside this area is rural or undeveloped. Per Voksø
Per Voksø (23 June 1923 – 28 December 2002) was a Norwegian newspaper editor and Christian leader. He was born in Bergen as the son of Julius Peder Voksø (1888–1937) and Gudrun Larssen (1891–1972). He took commerce school in 1941 and examen artium in 1944. In 1945 he started as a journalist in Bergen's Christian newspaper, '' Dagen''. He participated at the foundation congress of the World Council of Churches in 1948. In the same year he married shipmaster's daughter Doris Paulsen. They got four children together. He was hired as subeditor of ''Vår Kirke'' in 1954, and '' Morgenposten'' in 1957. In late 1966 he was promoted to editor-in-chief. He succeeded Asbjørn Engen. However, shortly after the newspaper was bought by industrialist Sverre Munck. The previous owner was Libertas, a semi-secret libertarian organization. The Norwegian Institute of Technology ( Norwegian: ''Norges tekniske høgskole'', NTH) was a science institute in Trondheim, Norway. It was established in 1910, and existed as an independent technical university for 58 years, after which it was merged into the University of Trondheim as an independent college. In 1996 NTH ceased to exist as an organizational superstructure when the university was restructured and rebranded. The former NTH departments are now basic building blocks of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). NTH was primarily a polytechnic institute, educating master level engineers as well as architects.
