Luciad
Luciad is a supplier of geographic information system (GIS) tools. Their products are intended for geospatial situational awareness. The company mainly focuses on the aviation, defence and security markets. Defence customers account for about 70% of the company's business. Headquartered in Leuven, Belgium, Luciad has offices in the United States, France, Germany, Mexico, and other international locations. It works with organizations such as Eurocontrol, Boeing, Airbus Defence and Space. History Dr. Lode Missiaen along with his colleague, Thierry Salvant, founded Luciad on March 22, 1999, together with management company R2I (acted as business angels). Arenberg Research-Park
The Arenberg Research-Park is a science park founded by the KU Leuven in 2004. The science park is in the immediate vicinity of the Arenberg campus of the university in Heverlee (Belgium), UZ Leuven campus Gasthuisberg and IMEC. The park is 13 hectares and consists of different cluster-areas, with amongst others a bio-incubator for spin-offs of the university and space for companies active in research and development. Usage The bio-incubator housing is the prime of the biotech & pharmaceutical spin-offs of the KU Leuven university. Bio-incubator Leuven offers 40,000 sq. ft., but expansions to 80,000 sq. ft. is currently ongoing. A common operational picture (COP) is a single identical display of relevant (operational) information (e.g. position of own troops and enemy troops, position and status of important infrastructure such as bridges, roads, etc.) shared by more than one Command. NATO Consultation, Command And Control Agency
The NATO Consultation, Command and Control Agency (NC3A) was formed in 1996 by merging the SHAPE Technical Centre (STC) in The Hague, Netherlands; and the NATO Communications and Information Systems Agency (NACISA) in Brussels, Belgium. NC3A was part of the NATO Consultation, Command and Control Organization (NC3O) and reported to the NATO Consultation, Command and Control Board ( NC3B). In July 2012, NC3A was merged into the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA). The agency had around 800 staff, of which around 500 were located in The Hague and 300 in Brussels.
