Lucas Richman
Lucas Richman (born January 31, 1964) is an American composer and conductor. He has conducted several film score soundtracks, including: ''As Good as It Gets'', '' Se7en'', '' The Manchurian Candidate'', and '' The Village''. In addition to his recording and film work, Richman has been serving, since 2010, as the music director of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra in Bangor, Maine. His niece is actress Julia Lester. Life and career Richman is the son of American actors Peter Mark Richman and Helen (Landess) Richman. He received his master of music degree in conducting from the University of Southern California. Richman earned a Dramalogue Award for conducting Leonard Bernstein’s ''Candide'' in 2005. As conductor, Richman was music director for the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra from 2003 to 2015. 53rd Annual Grammy Awards
The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards were held on February 13, 2011, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. They were broadcast on CBS with a rating of 26.6 million viewers. Barbra Streisand was honored as the MusiCares Person of the Year two nights prior to the telecast on February 11. Nominations were announced on December 1, 2010 and a total of 108 awards were presented. Most of the awards were presented during the pre-telecast, which took place at the Los Angeles Convention Center next to the Staples Center, where the main telecast took place. The eligibility period was October 1, 2009 to September 30, 2010. For the third year, nominations were announced on prime-time television as part of "The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live! – Countdown to Music's Biggest Night" a one-hour special broadcast live on CBS from Club Nokia at L.A. Academy Award For Best Original Score
The Academy Award for Best Original Score is an award presented annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) to the best substantial body of music in the form of dramatic underscoring written specifically for the film by the submitting composer. Some pre-existing music is allowed, though, but a contending film must include a minimum of original music. This minimum since 2021 is established as 35% of the music, which is raised to 80% for sequels and franchise films. Fifteen scores are shortlisted before nominations are announced.
