Lucas Lacamp
Lucas Philippe Lacamp (born June 4, 2001) is a professional rugby union player who plays as a centre. Born in Hong Kong, he represents United States at international level after qualifying on residency grounds. Early life Lacamp lived in Hong Kong and England in his youth, where he learned to play rugby. Lacamp represented Hong Kong at the 2019 World Rugby under-20 tournament. Lacamp in 2019 also played for the USA High School All-Americans team. He attended university in the United States, playing rugby with the UCLA Bruins. He was a finalist for the Rudy Scholz award as the best men's collegiate rugby player. 2021 Dubai Sevens
The 2021 Dubai Sevens was held as two rugby sevens tournaments on consecutive weekends in late November and early December that year. They were played as the fifty-first season of the Dubai Sevens, following the cancellation of the 2020 tournament due to impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. These events in Dubai were the opening tournaments of the 2021–22 World Rugby Sevens Series. Due to ongoing impacts of the pandemic, the first event was played behind closed doors on 26–27 November 2021, with no spectators allowed. The second event was played on 3–4 December in front of full crowds. As only twelve men's teams instead of the usual sixteen competed in 2021 at Dubai, the Olympic format of three pools with four teams in each was used for both tournaments. The 2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens was the eighth edition of the Rugby World Cup Sevens organised by World Rugby. The 2022 tournament, comprising 24 men's and 16 women's teams as previously, was played over three days in one venue in September. 2021–22 World Rugby Sevens Series
The 2021–22 World Rugby Sevens Series was the 23rd annual series of rugby sevens tournaments for national men's rugby sevens teams. The Sevens Series has been run by World Rugby since 1999. The series was won by , claiming their first World Series title. Second-placed South Africa opened the competition by winning the first four tournaments, with a 36 match winning streak that lasted until the 2022 Singapore Sevens where they were beaten by the United States in pool play, but they did not make the semifinals in any of the remaining events. International Rugby Union Eligibility Rules
Regulations relating to the eligibility of players to play for national teams in rugby union, both in the fifteen-a-side game and rugby sevens, are the responsibility of World Rugby, the governing body for the sport. Players' eligibility to represent a country depends on whether they have a genuine, close, credible and established national link with that country. In principle, as soon as a player has represented a country internationally (has been "captured" by that country), they are no longer permitted to represent another country.
